American Spiritist

Often, I've been asked,  "What is Spiritism?"  I will attempt to explain what it is, although at times it is easier to know what it is not.  I will continue to update this site as it evolves.

Unlike Spiritualism, Spiritism is not a religious sect but a philosophy or a way of life which its followers live by. Spiritists have no priests or ministers and do not follow any religious rituals in their meetings. They also do not call their places of meetings churches, and instead call them by various names such as centers, society or association. Their activities consist mainly of studying the Spiritist doctrine, applying spiritual healing to the sick and organizing charitable missions

Disclaimer: Spiritism is a philosophy and this website represents my interpretation only. I will do my best to cite anyone I quote. I do not claim to speak for anyone else.
